Bitcoin Fun Fair

Bitcoin is a technological revolution that will shake the foundations of our political, financial, and social systems. And every revolution is a hotbed of energy and creativity. In many ways, Bitcoin is not remarkable for what it is, but what it will be—and there are thousands of creative, ambitious people out there right now trying to make it happen.

As we survey the Bitcoin space, we invariably find gems of creativity that are fun, interesting, or just plain useful, so we decided to share those gems with you. Today, we want to share this:

Bitcoin Fun Fair

As much as I believe in Bitcoin as a currency, it’s going to have to grow much more in adoption and scale in capability before it can really fulfill that dream. Right now, merchant adoption is something that should be encouraged, but more as a curiosity. Bitcoin’s real value right now is as a hedge against the flaws and abuses of the current banking system and the overreach of increasingly Orwellian governments.

Whether you feel Bitcoin is more of a hedge or a currency, though is immaterial when it comes to the fact that we need to get more people interested in and comfortable with this new way type of money. The organizers of the Bitcoin Fun Fair have really hit the nail on the head.

Scheduled for February 14 and 15 in Stockholm, new designers, entrepreneurs, ‘innovative creators,’ and vintage shops are being encouraged to show off their wares and transact in Bitcoin. There will also be cultural exhibits, music, and food.

For the kids, they are running a Kids Hack Day.

Attendees will be asked to exchange at least 100 SEK to Bitcoin and to spend those coins at the event.

You can visit them here.
