Ex-N.J. cell phone store manager sold customer’s information in exchange for Bitcoin

A former communications store manager admitted in New Jersey federal court to receiving cryptocurrency to swap cell phone SIM information with another person, giving that individual access to customers’ personal information. Jonathan Katz, of Evesham Township, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Camden federal court to conspiracy to gain unauthorized access to a protected computer, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
