Cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX to launch Bitcoin on the moon

Bitcoin will soon be launched on the moon

BitMEX, a cryptocurrency exchange, announced on the 5th that it plans to send Bitcoin (BTC) to the moon’s surface in cooperation with Astrobotic, an American space-related company, and has completed loading 1 BTC onto a rocket.

This is a project that records the address and private key of 1 BTC on a physical replica of a Bitcoin weighing 43 kg, and sends it to the moon on a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Vulcan rocket.

Bitcoin will be loaded onto the commercial lunar module Peregrine 1, which will be carried by a rocket. The rocket was launched from a space base in Florida on the 8th, and is expected to reach the moon’s surface on February 23rd.

BitMEX CEO Stephan Lutz commented:

Preserved for future generations, Bitcoin on the moon will become a time capsule documenting one of humanity’s most important innovations and technological advances.

This decisive leap forward is just the beginning of a new era.

BitMEX says the purpose of this mission is to demonstrate the potential of Bitcoin and blockchain in creating an era in which financial systems that transcend various boundaries extend into space.

ULA, which provides the rocket, is a joint venture between Lockheed Martin, which develops the world’s most advanced stealth fighter jet, the F-22, and Boeing, the largest aircraft developer, and boasts high technological capabilities.

What is meme coin?

A typical example of a virtual currency born from a joke on the internet is Dogecoin (DOGE). General virtual currencies tend to fluctuate in price depending on their use case and development status. On the other hand, meme coins are centered on their topicality, and there are cases where there are no use cases or they are built later.
