5 Fun Ways to Use Bitcoin

While the use cases for Bitcoin are lagging expectations a little, there are some novel ways to spend some of those Bitcoin profits. Here are five ways to have fun with your Bitcoin.

Rise to the Challenge

Eristica allows its users to create and take challenges to win prizes – paid in Crypto of course. Eristic has an app and a website. If you’re feeling brave you can find a challenge, complete it and then provide the proof with a video.

If you’re not very brave, but you are creative – you can dream up a ridiculous challenge instead. And, if you are just plain lazy, you’re in luck too. There are hundreds of videos of other challenge-takers to watch.

Eristica hopes to compete with YouTube and Facebook as a platform for viral videos. The company is currently in the middle of an ICO to raise $10 million to rebuild their network using blockchain technology and smart contracts.

Go into space

Virgin Galactic’s space flights may not have started yet, but the ticket sales have.  Being a company focussed on the future, its only natural that they take payment in Bitcoin. In fact, they started accepting the cryptocurrency as early as early as 2013 which makes them one of the first high profile companies to accept it.

Apparently, flights could start as early as this year, though the queue might be quite long. Tickets are reportedly selling for $250,000 (return we hope), or about 18 Bitcoins.

Gambling

The gaming industry is all over Bitcoin. Gambling and video gaming companies are very often the early adopters of new technologies. It’s been no different with cryptocurrencies – online Bitcoin casinos are now commonplace on the web. Punters have a range of sites to choose from, about which you can read more in a guide from Gamble.io, and sites offer a wide variety of casino games. Gamers get to play with Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies, and of course winning are paid out in crypto. Many of these sites are brand new and offer generous bonuses to new players.

Buy Real Estate

It’s becoming more common for real estate developers to accept payments and deposits in Bitcoin. One of the first major developments to accept digital currencies was the $325 million Aston Plaza and Residences in Dubai.

Developments in Bali, Miami and New York are also now accepting digital cash, and we are sure to see more jumping on the bandwagon soon.

Buy an Electric Car

It’s probably no surprise to hear that you can buy a Tesla with Bitcoin. Tesla likes to operate well beyond the cutting edge with everything they do. The company was also one of the first to accept Bitcoin back in 2013.

Tesla’s cars don’t come cheap, but maybe you can make the car pay for itself. One enterprising developer built a mining rig in his Tesla so that he could mine Bitcoin for free.

These are just some of the ways you can spend Bitcoin and have some fun doing it. Now that number of people getting involved with cryptocurrencies is beginning to grow exponentially, we are sure to see more conventional companies accepting them too.
