Spot Bitcoin ETFs Discussed In Meeting Between BlackRock And SEC
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) met with BlackRock Inc. on Monday to discuss the proposed rule to allow a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). The SEC’s trading and markets division also met with Grayscale Investments, the leading crypto asset manager, regarding its application. The SEC released a memo indicating that they met with BlackRock and Nasdaq Stock Market employees. “The discussion concerned the NASDAQ Stock Market LLC’s proposed rule change to list and trade shares of the iShares Bitcoin Trust under NASDAQ Rule 5711(d),” the memo states.
