Circle has received conditional registration as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) in France from the country’s financial markets authority, AMF. Circle aims to obtain an Electronic Money Institution license to satisfy the condition for starting operations in France. The company has appointed payments industry veteran Coralie Billmann to spearhead its licensed operations in France, subject to regulatory approval. Billmann’s experience in compliance and finance, including board directorships at 3S Money and PayPal, will aid Circle’s efforts to achieve MiCA readiness and passportability for its products and services.
