Cryptocurrency platform Kraken has received authorization as an e-money institution from the Central Bank of Ireland and as a virtual asset service provider from the Bank of Spain. The EMI license will allow the company to expand its fiat services across 27 European Union member states and European Economic Area countries in partnership with European banks. The VASP registration in Spain also enables Kraken to offer cryptocurrency exchange and custodial wallet services to Spanish residents.
