6 Places Where You Can Earn Cryptocurrencies For Free

When you’re new to cryptocurrencies or trading in general, big numbers can be scary. Of the countless coins springing up, many people are stuck not knowing where to put their hard-earned money since they can easily lose it all.

With these sites/apps, you can avoid a gamble altogether, earning crypto without investing a single cent. The amount earned won’t be substantial but they’re great to kickstart your journey in the cryptocurrency world.

Coinbase Earn

As most people know, Coinbase is an online platform where people can buy, sell, transfer and store cryptocurrencies. But you can also earn various types of crypto on the site by watching a video about a new project then answer a few questions about it. Even newbies to cryptocurrency can easily do this.

The kind of crypto you earn depends on the particular projects and these are frequently updated so you get to own a wide range of currencies. Rewards in the past include COMP, CGLD, GRT, NU…

One drawback of this method is that you have to create an account on Coinbase and verify it with your photos and documents (ID, passport…). Then you will have to wait a few days before being able to start earning crypto.

Faucets

Faucets are apps or websites that aim to give people with few cryptocurrencies a small share to begin. They are funded by ads and donators. You can earn crypto by completing small, easy tasks or sometimes, you just need to enter your crypto wallet address.

There are faucets for many currencies, simply try typing the name of the coin plus the word ‘faucet’ on Google to find it. This is a lightning-quick and effortless way to earn crypto. Even though the sum is small, many faucets such as Free Nano Faucet and Dogecoin Faucet allow coin requests every 3 hours.

WeNano

WeNano is an app that makes earning crypto into a fun social game. In WeNano, donators can set up a spot on the map and decide how much and often it’s gonna pay. Then, anyone standing near that spot can earn NANO.

WeNano encourages you to discover places around your area to get your reward. You can even chat and meet with other users, enriching the community of like-minded people. Maybe aside from NANO, you can get a new friend, who knows?

The payout in this app is almost instant and there’s no fee, too. The amount of NANO you can earn is pretty good especially if you live in a big city. WeNano is the PokemonGo for crypto lovers.

Reddit

There’s no better time to be alive: now you can shitpost and comment on Reddit to earn cryptocurrencies. Reddit launched its feature: Reddit Community Points (RCPs) in 2020 to reward its users. Different subreddits have their own currencies.

For example, r/CryptoCurrency uses MOONs as their currency while r/FortNiteBR has BRICKs. You have to set up your vault on the Reddit app and every month, you can claim a certain amount of MOONs or BRICKs depending on how much karma you get that month.

In addition, in subreddits like r/DogeCoin and r/nanocurrency, people can tip others with DOGEs and NANOs. But of course there’s no guarantee you will be tipped even if your post receives plenty of upvotes. There is another subreddit called r/dogecoinbeg where you can beg for DOGEs, if you’re that desperate.

Publish0x

Publish0x is a website where you can read and write articles and blog entries. The trick is: both the readers and writers can make money in the form of cryptocurrencies. Each time a reader finishes an article, they can adjust the ‘tipper slide’, choosing what percentage to tip and what to keep. The money comes from Publish0x’s rewards pool.

You need to apply to be an author to earn crypto with tips from readers. Another way to make money is to invite people to use Publish0x. You can earn 5% of every tip a user you refer gives to an author—this is a lifetime deal by the way.

Currently, the cryptocurrencies you can tip and receive on Publish0x are Ethereum, Ampleforth and Harvest.Finance. The site claims they won’t develop their own currency and promote any particular coin.

NFT Marketplaces

If you’re good at creating digital arts, why not sell them as NFTs? Luckily, the NFTs scene is blowing up this year: from tweets to celebrities’ music videos, NFTs are being sold for up to millions of dollars. A piece called Everyday: The First 5000 Days was sold for a record-breaking $69 million.

Some great NFT marketplaces include KnownOrigin, Mintable, Rarible, OpenSea… Ethereum is the preferred currency in most sites but it’s entirely possible to sell for other cryptocurrencies or even FIAT. The drawback of these marketplaces is that minting a work can come with  a small gas fee.
