Andreas Antonopoulos, author of Mastering Bitcoin and Mastering Ethereum, will not be part of the monumental lunch date between the cryptocurrency industry’s ‘marketing and PR poster boy’ Justin Sun, CEO of Tron Foundation and infamous Bitcoin-basher and investment mogul, Warren Buffett.
Following a barrage of tweets from various members of the cryptocurrency community to Antonopoulos, all vying to convince him to join Sun and six other crypto-proponents to flip Buffett’s opinion on Bitcoin and the larger cryptocurrency sector, he declined the ‘offer.’ Labeling the Berkshire Hathaway CEO as just “an investor,” and the lunch as being a “PR shill for crypto,” Antonopoulos commented, “no thanks.”
His full tweet read,
My twitter mentions have become unusable, flooded with thousands of messages of people “volunteering” me and others to go to a lunch with an investor, as PR shills for crypto. (no thanks)
If you had an important message for me, you might need to try again in a week.

Previously, Changpeng Zhao, CEO of the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world by name and “real volume,” Binance, also turned down the invite as the location would be ‘too far’ for CZ’s liking.
However, CZ recommended Anthony Pompliano, Managing Partner at Morgan Creek Digital, in his stead.
Earlier this week, Justin Sun dished out a whopping $4.6 million for the Glide Foundation’s annual charity auction and in the process, secured a lunch date with Warren Buffett himself. Sun now aims to assemble what the community is referring to as ‘The Crypto Avengers,’ who will have the mission of luring the investment mogul to the side of the crypto.
This will not be an easy feat however, as the old-school investor has previously referred to Bitcoin as “rat poison squared,” and deemed it a tool of “charlatans.”
