Bitcoin [BTC] gets exposure to 4 million people as Twitter CEO tweets whitepaper on its 10th birthday

Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, tweeted out the whitepaper of Bitcoin [BTC] on the occasion of its 10th birthday. This not only exposes the technology to his 4 million followers but is also indicative of his approval and involvement in the cryptocurrency space.

The whitepaper was also followed by a link to another one of Dorsey’s services, Square’s Cash app. The executive is also the head of Square, a company focused on providing Bitcoin payments to all and making it accessible to many.

In the past, he has also said that Bitcoin would be the single currency of the Internet. In an interview in March, Dorsey stated:

“The world ultimately will have a single currency, the internet will have a single currency. I personally believe that it will be Bitcoin.”

Jack is also an investor in Lightning Labs, the company behind building the Lightning Network for Bitcoin. The Lightning Network is a layer-2 solution for the scalability of the Bitcoin blockchain and aims to increase the transaction throughput of the blockchain by moving transactions off the chain.

On the scalability of Bitcoin, he stated:

“It’s slow and it’s costly, but as more and more people have it, those things go away. There are newer technologies that build off of blockchain and make it more approachable.”

Marcion_Sinope, a user on Reddit, said:

“One of the Black Hands of internet censorship trying to get street cred by pretending to align with bitcoin?”

Anthony Pompliano:

“Jack, thanks for pushing the pace. Long Bitcoin, Short the Bankers! Thanks for your kindness today. Hope you’re having a great day :)”
