Justin Sun, the Founder of the Tron Foundation tweeted about the forthcoming Odyssey 3.1 upgrade, scheduled to take place at 8 PM SGT [12:00 PM UTC]. He mentioned that the upgrade will overtake two major cryptocurrencies, Ethereum [ETH] and EOS [EOS] in terms of speed and cost. In his tweet, Sun stated:
“Based on community consensus, #TRON will be upgrading to Odyssey 3.1 at 8pm SGT. The TRON Committee function & TVM will go live, marking the start of the Smart Contract Era. TRON will be 200x faster vs. ETH, 100x cheaper vs. EOS. dApp developers & users, this one is for you! $TRX”
Over the past week, the cryptocurrency has also gained much success in the market as it jumped two places ahead, from 13th to the 11th spot and overtook IOTA [MIOTA] and Dash [DASH]. Soon, the cryptocurrency is speculated to race the privacy coin Monero [XMR], which currently occupies the 10th place on the crypto-ranking.
TRX is one of the few tokens in the cryptocurrency market to be performing well and taming the bull. Other coins have been suffering a bear attack with bleeding prices and wounded market capitalization.
In terms of adoption, Tron has enjoyed support from several cryptocurrency exchanges and other platforms. Last week, Tron widened its horizons and expanded its fiat reach by receiving a listing from Bitfinex. The platform added three pairs of TRX/fiat, which included JPY [Japanese yen], GBP [Pound sterling] and Euro [EUR].
However, on the technical side of it, Charles Hoskinson, the creator of Cardano [ADA] suggested the Tron development team to fork off of IOHK’s Mantis and build Tron further on it. In an interview, Hoskinson also clarified that he is open to working with teams, such as Tron and others for the development of the ecosystem.
Manish, a TRX HODLer and a cryptocurrency space enthusiast dissed the TRX market and wrote:
“Give my money back I lost because of tron you are fooling us , price is down and you making daily new twitter updates”
Another Twitter user and Tron follower, walter, replied to the above comment and passed a casual remark. The user said:
“lol this is an example of some one not knowing what they get into..lol..sad man..”
