Vitalik Buterin, the Co-Founder of Ethereum and Bitcoin Magazine, decides to stand against Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto, again. This time the controversy is related to the upcoming Bitcoin Cash [BCH] fork.
Vitalik Buterin on Twitter said:
“The BCH community should NOT compromise with Craig Wright to ‘avoid a spilt’ and should embrace it as an opportunity to conclusively ostracize and reject him. Bitcoin Craig (BCC) can go take the ticker symbol from the now-defunct cryptocurrency to which it is a fitting successor.”
Craig Wright, the Chief Scientist of nChain, recently announced the launch of a full node implementation for Bitcoin Cash called Bitcoin Satoshi Vision [Bitcoin SV]. The node implementation will be launched in order to maintain the original vision of Bitcoin as envisioned by Satoshi Nakamoto and is solely created for the miners.
This would introduce 4 opcodes, OP_MUL, OP_INVERT, OP_RSHIFT and OP_LSHIFT. This would also increase the block size limit from 32MB to 128MB. In addition, Bitcoin SV will be eradicating the delays that take place in the transaction. The plug-in transaction selection and quotation modules give the miners the freedom to control the fee policies more conveniently.
The launch of Bitcoin SV is set to happen before the Bitcoin Cash’s hardfork which is scheduled in the month of November 2018. The hardfork will be led by Bitcoin ABC team.
This has led to a huge divide in the Bitcoin Cash community, with Bitcoin ABC proposing different changes in the upcoming hardfork and it will not be included in Bitcoin SV. This is because nChain’s Bitcoin SV would not support any other changes once implemented on Bitcoin Cash and it would only require a split in the chain.
Recently, Craig said:
“No hash goes to this crap. They want it, they can fork it, without us”
Bitcoin ABC’s November 2018 upgrade is going to make Bitcoin Cash become ‘sound money’ which can be used by everyone around the globe according to the team. This would pave the path for the use of oracles and cross-chain atomic contracts. In addition, canonical transactions ordering will also be introduced.
With his latest tweet, Vitalik Buterin seems to be on the Bitcoin ABC’s team and urges the Bitcoin Cash community to stand against Craig Wright. This is not the first time that Vitalik has voiced against Craig. During the Deconomy 2018 conference, Vitalik called Craig a ‘fraud’ and even questioned his presence in the conference in front of the mass audience.
Jameson Lopp, a Cypherpunk said:
“Sorry but I don’t agree that such a chain deserves to be called Bitcoin __. I find ‘Faketoshi Fork’ more fitting.”
Eli Afram, an employee at GoinGeek said:
“Since when have we become about people and not technology, ideas, and the market? nChain is pushing for the original Bitcoin client only – as miners it is their right. ABC and Bitmain have every right to also push their client also. What you are calling for is ‘censorship”
Snugg, a Twitterati says:
“The only thing he’s pushing is a Bitcoin that scales. People get so emotional because he’s abrasive. Boo hoo.”
