TRON Foundation, on June 7th, announced on their Twitter page that they are discontinuing ERC20 services for TRON official website. In the light of their mainnet officially separating on June 25th, 2018, updates, and TRX migration process the services from ERC20 on their website are being terminated.
TRON has been constantly announcing the support that it has gained from a lot of trading platform in the past week some of which are CoinEgg, Bitopro, Bitforex, OTCBTC, Max Exchange, CoinEx, and Indodax.
On May 9th, 2018, Justin Sun had tweeted:
“T-21 days until Mainnet launch! #TRON will be one of the most competitive mainstream blockchains with the most users. We graduated #1 from the ETH platform with 1.08M+ users, more than OMG and EOS combined. ETH was just a prelude. Now for the main act $TRX.”
He also stated:
“From today to the last day, we are no longer the ERC20 token, and in the future, we will compete with Ethereum as a DApp platform.”
“We will compete face to face with Ethereum, and we have confidence we will build a large ecosystem; a much large ecosystem than the Ethereum. I will explain to you why we can surpass Ethereum in the future”
In order to show its goodwill gesture for Ethereum network, TRON had declared a 30M TRX airdrop to Ethereum community. Ethereum played an essential role in early stages of TRON’s development. Justifying their decision to part ways with ERC20, they stated on their Medium account:
“we have also discovered many issues and bottlenecks during our time on the Ethereum platform. When we see a problem — we will set out to solve it. That is why TRON wants to provide TRX to the Ethereum community, so people have a chance to experience our high TPS development platform and use TRX to vote, becoming part of our new generation decentralized network and the TRON democracy.”
knaps, a Twitter user commented:
“yay now trx will be at 650 by friday!!!”
