Stellar is all set to change the payment mode in the crypto-space. Stellar recently partnered with Keybase and is envisioning a future where cryptocurrencies can be transferred from one person to another with merely the end users’ Twitter or Reddit handle and without a requirement of their long string of digits. In a way clearing the path of transferring money just the way one person interacts with another person socially.
Keybase, backed by a public-key cryptography is a new and free security app for mobile phones and computers. They have designed new secure tools cryptographically, similar to Team Dropbox or Slack which can be used by everyone across the globe and files can’t be leaked or hacked through the server.
Stellar will be financially supporting the project with a mix of centralized US dollar and XLM. Stellar will be announcing the details regarding the collaboration and products once the project is near to completion or is completed.
Stellar made the official announcement on their blog and even added:
“We can’t think of any group of developers we’d rather see contribute to the Stellar ecosystem.”
The same sentiment is shared by Keybase. They feel that Stellar can fulfill Bitcoin’s original goal of cheap, fast and worldwide payments. Keybase even claims that Stellar is better than Ethereum as Ethereum is too expensive and too insecure and many other projects and ICO’s are preferring Stellar like MobileCoin and Kik.
Both the parties are looking forward to solving payment problems such as a need of long ‘ugly’ address to make payment, address people with more than just their phone numbers, the difficulty of using a single wallet through multiple devices and the requirement of a private key for a browser extension. Keybase will also be focusing on integrating the key features of Stellar directly into its app.
Jay Kumar, an XLM investor says,
“This is a brilliant news bro! We gonna see the moooonnn soon.”
Anthony Claus, a cryptocurrency expert says,
“More than the market, it’s going to be huge difference in the value of XLM. I mean, everyone would want to use the coin if it turns out to be this secure and convenient.”
Surreal10n, a Twitterati says,
“Oh well… Goodbye keybase, this is the beginning of the end.”
